  • We carefully place children according to their age, confidence, experience and communication skills.

    If you're unsure, we recommend booking a Trial Saturday and we'll help find the most suitable group.

  • No.

    We welcome children with different levels of experience and place them in groups where they feel comfortable and supported.

  • Classes are intentionally kept small to allow every child the opportunity to participate, communicate and build relationships with their classmates.

  • Many children are nervous when joining for the first time.

    There is no pressure to speak immediately. Children are welcome to listen, observe and participate when they feel ready.

  • Absolutely.

    Our youngest learners join alongside a parent and learn through stories, songs, games, movement and conversation.

    Many parents are surprised by how much their children absorb simply by hearing and using English in a relaxed environment.

  • Parents participate in our Little Learners classes and play an important role in supporting younger children.

    Older children and teenagers usually attend independently.

  • Classes take place on Saturday mornings.

    Each term consists of 9 Saturdays.

    Language Society Oxford runs five terms throughout the year.

  • No.

    Families join one 9-Saturday term at a time.

    Many children stay for years, but there is never an obligation to commit beyond the current term.

  • Life happens.

    Whether your child is away on holiday, attending a sporting event or simply feeling under the weather, we understand that occasional absences are part of family life.

    Our classes are live, interactive and community-based, so missed lessons cannot usually be refunded or rescheduled. We simply look forward to welcoming your child back the following Saturday.

    We also work hard to keep our programmes as accessible as possible for families. Rather than increasing fees to cover individual make-up lessons, we focus on providing exceptional value through small international classes, outstanding teachers and a supportive learning community.

    As a result, missing the occasional Saturday is usually far less costly than it would be in many other educational programmes.

    Children from more than 21 countries have joined Language Society Oxford.

    International friendships are one of the things that make our community so special.

  • Children do not simply learn English at Language Society Oxford.

    They communicate, discuss ideas, form friendships and become part of an international community.

    Whether they join as Little Learners, Highly Gifted students or Young Athletes, they learn alongside children from around the world while being supported by exceptional teachers.

  • Many children join for one term and stay for years.

    Students who complete four terms with Language Society Oxford receive an official LSO Certificate recognising their commitment, participation and learning journey.

    Some families choose to include these certificates and achievements in their child's school reports, educational portfolios or applications, particularly when demonstrating sustained participation in an international educational programme.
